Microsoft SharePoint

Client: Pfizer (2004-2008)

I created a team site in SharePoint to support Pfizer pharmaceutical company’s in-house data mining software RGate (Research Gateway) in answer to user demands for a way to post questions and get answers as well as share information about using RGate. The site contained a message board where developers and other power users answered posted questions, a blog written by me and other members of the development team, a calendar for each global research site, and a tool to search Pfizer’s database of chemical and biological data.

For most of the site’s features I simply used SharePoint’s out of the box modular design tools. However, to customize some of the elements to conform to RGate branding I used Microsoft SharePoint Developer (the web design application formerly known as FrontPage).

Wikimedia

Client: Pfizer (2004-2008)

Pfizer pharmaceutical company used Wikimedia to create its own in-house version of Wikipedia called Pfizerpedia, a user-managed encyclopedia of all things Pfizer. I authored and maintained more than 30 pages in-house data mining software RGate’s (Research Gateway) features, where to get help using the software, links to downloadable training manterials, and contact information for site representatives, power users, and developers. Prior to Pfizer adopting SharePoint as its main social media tool, Pfizerpedia was the go-to for knowledge sharing.
